Therapy Manager

SpiriTrust Lutheran is now hiring a Full Time Therapy Manager at The Village at Luther Ridge in Chambersburg, PA.

Education/Training: Graduate of an accredited therapy program, current occupational therapy assistant state license.

Skill(s): Excellent verbal and written communication, service orientation, active listening, time management, critical thinking, sound judgement & decision making, social perceptiveness, compassionate instruction, promotes active learning.

Experience: 3-5 years of related experience preferred.

  1. Assumes the job duties of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

    • Interacts with residents, clients, staff, and the general public in ways that demonstrate the agency’s commitment to courtesy, service, and hospitality befitting a church related organization.

    • Other duties as assigned by my supervisor, necessary for the efficient operation of the department/facility.

    • Works under the direction of occupational therapists to plan, implement, or administer programs that restore or enhance performance in individuals with functional impairments.

    • Monitors patients' performance in therapy activities and provides encouragement.

    • Assists in instructing patients and families in home programs, basic living skills, or the care and use of adaptive equipment.

    • Observes and records patients' progress, attitudes, and behavior and maintains this information in client records.

    • Assists occupational therapists with implementing treatment plans.

    • Reports to supervisors on patients' progress, attitudes, and behavior.

    • Performs clerical duties.

  2. Plans and implements the occupational therapy functions policies, procedures, and services.

  3. Ensures efficient and effective operations for occupational therapy department.

  4. Identifies services through program planning and facilitates program development.

  5. Manages occupational therapy staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.

  6. Assists staff in assessing the needs of clients and ensures the proper level of care is delivered.

  7. Achieves high customer satisfaction for healthcare delivery and financial goals.

  8. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.

  9. Analyzes data to determine effectiveness of rehabilitative programs.

  10. Interacts with interdisciplinary team members, monitors compliance, manages insurance/billing issues, and coordinates clinical aspects of the rehab program.

  11. Works closely with the MDS staff to ensure maximum reimbursement.

  12. Plans treatment schedules, tracks MDS assessments, and completes monthly billing.

  13. Trains and collaborates with therapy and nursing staff to improve interaction and ensure positive response from facility residents.
